I recently tried to download IMesh, which has a bunch of
adware attached. Then I decided to uninstall. I also ran
a Spyware program and deleted or quarantined stuff.
Somewhere in the process IE stopped working. I connect
through a cable modem, and my connection is fine. I can
still download songs from MusicMatch, I can can still use
HP's FREE (unlike Microsoft's) chat help service. I can't
download a new version of Explorer because....I have no
Explorer! I don't know whether I accidentally deleted
some file, or whether a connection is wrong. Can anyone
help me? I have found this website truly un-useful.
Could I just buy IE on a CD and reinstall? Help!

You might want to reinstall IE6. Before you do that,
download another browser from download.com. There is a
great one called SlimBrowser, it's superior to IE. Before
downloading you need to change the registry value by using
regedit (Start, Run, type in regedit, click OK) Then
locate the following site

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, Software, Microsoft, Installed
Components, 44BBA848-CC51-11CF-AAFA-00AA00B6015C

Click on IsInstalled click on Edit , then Modify and
change the value to 0
Download IE6 SP1 at this site
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/downloads/critical/ie6s
p1/default.asp
Reboot the machine.
