Explorer windows unexpectedly quit

Doesn't matter what I'm doing, copying, moving, viewing,
or doing nothing at all, Windows Explorer just quits (if
more than one explorer window open, they all quit). You
can see it redraw the task bar as Explorer restarts
itself. This can happen at any time, within seconds of a
fresh boot or it can go hours without doing this.

I'm having this exact same issue on 2 different XP Pro
machines and have been living with it for a couple of
months now. I even reformatted one machine and
reinstalled everything, but the problem came back almost
immediately.

Would love to find the culprit here...

Thanks in advance!

I am not sure wat you are refering to..is it the windows
Explorer or Internet explorer ( the one with the Icon of a
blue lower case e )
Incase Its the internet explorer ( as I presume it
is )..please do the following:
1. Open the internet explorer window and click on the
Tools pull down menu on the top of the window.
2.click on internet options and the the tab by the name
advanced.
3.Once under advanced u shall have a lot of check
boxes.Make sure the one labelled reuse windows for
launching shortcuts. click apply and then click ok.Let me
know if it works..
Have Fun...
