Explorer window position and size not being saved

Rafael finrod

Everytime I open and close the Explorer, its window' size
and position is not saved by WinXP. Does anyone know why
this is happening? I haven't got a clue :(( I am the admin
for this computer.

The position is not saved in any case. This is by design. The size is
saved unless you use the Maximize command for the window.
If this does no longer work, resetting (and increasing) the folder
layout cache may help: Delete the Registry keys
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Shell\Bags and
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Shell\BagMRU, both with
all the subentries, then create new keys "BagMRU" and "Bags" here. At
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\ShellNoRoam create a new
DWORD entry
BagMRU Size
and set this to
5000 (decimal)
Restart the computer.
