Explorer Problems

I am using windows xp and am using AOL 9.0. A few weeks
back my computer was inidated with pop up ads that seem
to come from no where. Ever since I have had the issue
(It still happens but not as often) my explorer seems
sluggish. When going to a web page it freezes for about
45 seconds before I can scroll the page or anything, the
whole computer sorta freezes up. Is this an explorer
problem or an aol problem? Also any advice about the pop
ups?

scan for any viruses (make sure your AV software is up to
date) then try installing Adaware or spybot (you can
search on google, or scroll through this newsgroup for
links in other posts - again, do an update after
installing)Run the anti spyware program, remove any
offenders and see if this makes a difference.
