What brings it on? Are you using left or right click.
Does it occur when you are using particularly functions in Windows
Explorer e.g. copy / paste or whatever? Alternatively does it occur when
you try to open a particular type of file?
You will find an Error Report in Event Viewer, which may suggest where
the problem might lie. In any event the posting of a copy of the report
would seem sensible.
You can access Event Viewer by selecting Start, Control Panel,
Administrative Tools, and Event Viewer. When researching the meaning
of the error, information regarding Event ID, Source and Description
are important.
A tip for posting copies of Error Reports! Run Event Viewer and double
click on the error you want to copy. In the window, which appears is a
button resembling two pages. Click the button and close Event
Viewer. Now start your message (email) and do a paste into the body of
the message. Make sure this is the first paste after exiting from
Event Viewer.

Hope this helps.

Hi,
Windows Explorer or Internet Explorer?
If Windows Explorer, is a particular program running when this
happens?
If Internet Explorer, is a particular website being accessed?

Daughters laptop has a very annoying problem. Randomly a message
will appear saying explorer has an error and must be restarted.
Clicking any of the 3 options causes the status bar to vanish and
then reappear as explorer restarts. Odd thing is that if she moves
the message away to the edge of the screen she can carry on using
the laptop fine ?
XP Media Center edition and fully patched.
Any ideas please?
