Explorer problem

Been running windowsxp with svp2 and all updates for sometime now with
no problems. Yesterday it started throwing a wobbler.

The Quick launch toolbar keeps disappearing whenever the computer is
restarted. I have it checked in the Toolbars option but it reverts to no
check after the computer has been restarted.

Any ideas on what might be causing this? Not sure what more info to give
to help the experts? I haven't installed or uninstalled any programs of
late.
