This is probably an easy question to answer but for the life of me I
cannot find the setting anywhere to fix it. The question is - Whenever
I connect my IPOD to my Windows XP machine, Windows opens a Windows
Explorer window with the contents of the attached drive (IPOD). How do
I stop this from happening??

Like I said, it is probably a basic setting or registry change but I
can't seem to locate it? Thanks in advance for anyones assistance.

Also I know it is not the Autoplay route cause I have already tried
that and set everything to No action taken so that is not the problem.

I just noticed something additional when I was playing around in
Folder properties. Hopefully someone with Windows XP knowledge can
shed some light on this cause I believe this is where my problem lies.
When I go to the Window (that opens when I plug my IPOD in) and go to
Tools/Folder Options/File Types... In this window you can see what
actions are taken whenever a certain file type is connected to the
system. At the top of the list are drives. Now when I click on this,
then go to Advanced, it opens a window that says Edit File Type. Then
there is a box with Actions: Inside here I have find and open, with
open being the default and BOLDED. I think this is where my problem
lies. Unfortunately, I can remove the open command but not the find
command. Wnen I remove the open, find becomes bolded and is set as
default. Then whenever I plug my IPOD in a get a Search window popping
up now instead of the Explorer Window. Very strange, anyone have any
ideas how to get rid of both.

Thanks again in advance, hopefully I didn't make it too hard to
understand .
