Explorer mini mouse freezing up

I own a farily new Mini Mouse wireless mouse. Initially it worked great with
no problems. My problem now is that the mouse intermittantly freezes up. When
this happens, I need to power down and reboot the computer to use the mouse
again. The product seems generally good. The only drivers associated with the
mouse are for configuration, other than that there is no software involved.
The mouse is basically plug and play.

Is this a mouse problem or a PC problem. Any suggestions as to how to solve
this problem would be appreciated.

Try changing the battery in the mouse.

Is this a wireless USB mouse? Desktop or notebook? Is the receiver within
line-of-sight of the mouse at all times? What make is the mouse?

The mouse is the new Microsoft Explorer Mini Mouse with BlueTrak technology.
It is a USB mouse. It is compatible for a desktop or notebook. The receiver
is no further than 2 feet from the mouse. I have tried most everything to
resolve the problem.

Do you have other items plugged into USB ports? Maybe something else is
drawing just about max power and the receiver pulls it down the rest of the
way.
