explorer homepage

Hello:

A worm or something interfered with my Internet options
settings so that I can't modify my home page. I believe I
have since removed the worm -- installed several programs
for this -- but still can't change it. In fact, I can't
access Internet options from the tools in explorer, but
have to go to the Control Panel. But even there I can't
change my homepage. Is there a fix without reinstalling
Internet Explorer, and if I do reinstall, do I have to
save my address book and bookmarks, etc. That will
involve a whole other issue I will need help with.
