Hello all,
I have a windows XP problem that I have had for over a year and cannot find
any way to fix it.
Here is the scenario:
Problem:
Windows Explorer hogs 50-100% of the processor until I shut it down and
restart it with the "Task Manager"
Then 10 minutes later it will do the same thing.
Expected Solution:
I don't think the windows installation, software or even hardware is the
problem.
It must be because of the combination of the hardware I am using.
My Hardware:
ATI Radon 8500
Sound Blaster platinum
Mother board ASUS P4C800 (but I have tried and AMD board)
This problem does occur on a fresh installation of windows.
As I type this the only thing I could possible think could cause it is the
video card, and it is a piece of crap, but I really paid a lot for it and
don't want to buy a replacement if there is a solution.
There has to be some trick to fix this problem. Please help.
One thing I did notice is that in the task manager it appears that windows
thinks I have 2 cpu's of which I don't.
There are two graphs, instead of just one.
Thank you,
Dustin
