So I'm an Administrator for an Architect who's making the switch from hand drafting, to computer drafting

Thusly, I've been taking care of all the Software/Computer Research for him

Now I've been using Computers as a tool for over 15 years or so. But with this position, I'm begining to move beyond the general info. needed to operate a computer, and into the vast world which lay below the surface of this well established "tool of man"

Lo

But in all honestly, I've come quickly to a question in regards to Microsoft Explorer

It may be to early for me to intelligently say, but is it just me, or does the use of Microsoft Explorer carry with it a great deal of "system mucking" realities

Such as Pop Ups, getting kicked off line, or out of whatever software you're working on IE. the system shutting down, or the computer freezing up

Any input is appreciated.

IE does have inherant security flaws.Like "all" software
it's not perfect.
To Microsofts credit they "do" there best with regards to
critical updates ect..ect..
My opinion "Friend" is the conclusion. Unless you make the
move to Linux (ie Xandros,Lindows,Red Hat ect..ect, these
have Application Software compatibility issues )these
security issues will remain.

In regards to pop ups, lockups ect..ect...
If you have a good up to date system and that includes the
latest hardware and memory componants, good virus software
and parisite detection software and firewall and you run
your system maintainance proceedures you will have a good
reliable system that will spare you the grief you are now
experiencing.
