I am trying to improve the performance of an older laptop with 27GB drive,
running XP SP2.
I have removed unused apps and run defrag on it, but the results indicate
that a file - explorer.exp.expt - in the Windows directory could not be
defragmented and it is over 9GB in size. Can someone advise as to what this
file is, what it does and whether there is logic in trying to defragment it?
I presume it is some essential system software. Cannot find anything via web
searching that provides a clue.
Note that I am not that technical a user, so am reluctant to mess around
with system files or registry settings, as I don't want to corrupt the
machine. My wife uses it.
