Explorer.exe Launchs Application

Hi

I am having a small problem with an XP machine. In task manager,
applications, an application (sales reports) is shown which starts with
explorer.exe (if you select the appliction and then go to process it takes
you to explorer.exe). The problem being obviously, if you try to end task on
the application, explorer restarts along with the application.

The computer has been scanned for viruses/spyware and appears to be clean.
If have checked the usual places for settigs (msconfig etc) but have had no
luck. The app does not appear to be causing any problems but would just like
to stop it running.

Are you sure "sales reports" is actually an application? What I'm
wondering is if it might be a folder that you have open in Windows
Explorer -- or a "start in" folder you have set in a shortcut you use to
launch Explorer.

Quick way to find out: In any folder window, go to the Tools | Folder
Options | View menu and check "display the full path in the title bar"
(be sure not to confuse this with a similar entry for "address bar"
above it). Then OK your way out and check Task Manager again. Has the
entry in the Applications tab changed?

I am having a similar problem:
Anyone saw this before? Please help me here:

Quick Launch is listed as a running program from my Task Manager. If I end
this task, the explorer.exe (desktop UI) goes away. And then comes back -
along with the Quick Launch" task. If I select the "Go to process" option
from the "Quick Launch" task in the task manager, it takes me to the
explorer.exe process. There is only one explorer.exe on my PC.

I am worried that some virus has attached itself to the explorer.exe on my
pC. I scanned my PC multiple times with 3 different antivirus software and
found nothing.

But it's so weird that I have this Quick Launch thing there. I can end the
task w/o shutting down explorer.exe. I get a message that I am closing a
toolbar, but it is not the quick launch toolbar for XP, because it doesn't
close. BTW, there are two Quick Launch applications running.
