Sorry, I know this has been discussed ad nauseum, because I read the
previous posts. However, the solutions offered (except upgrade to
SP4) have not solved my problem. Haven't installed SP4 yet, because
it's an enormous download and I don't want to leave my computer logged
into my ISP for like 12 hours.
Okay, so when does it happen:
1. every time I open Control Panels.
2. every time I open My Computer.
3. every time I open Recycle Bin.
4. every time I open a folder on my computer.
When does it not happen:
1. if I open an application and then open a file.
2. If I read something from a DOS prompt.
OK, so explorer.exe may be corrupt. How do I fix it without
reformatting and reinstalling Windows? I tried a repair install, and
that did nothing.
Pretty soon I'm just gonna get f***ed off and just reformat. Enough
wasting time - except it's in the middle of the term, so I kinda need
this thing to work...
Thanks,
Pieter
