Around every 5-10 minates explorer.exe will crash:

What exactly are you doing when "explorer.exe" crashes and how does it
immediately effect the system? The log you posted is from Advanced System
Information so I assume you're not winding up in the BSOD? You might have a
look at the Event Viewer logs and see if there is more detailed information
there. Also, there are viruses, trojans, worms and spyware that pose
themselves as explorer.exe and you should find this file nowhere but in
c:\windows\System32. Taking that into consideration a thorough virus and
spyware scan is probably in order. You might also try running "sfc /
scannow" to repair any damaged system files and/or try a "system restore" to
an earlier date (using sfc / scannow can overwrite updated files if you're
asked to use your XP CD and don't have a backup of system files on your
computer.)

Are you updated i.e., have you installed SP2?

RE: Installation discs
I'd contact HP about this, tell them you're unable to use sfc / scannow
because you don't have the disc.
