Hello good people !!!

I have a problem with IE 6.0 or Visual C++ ???
Please help some one.
When I go to access : Control Panel or Windows Explore or
IE, I get a error message:" Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime
Library. BUFFER OVERRUN DETECTED!
Program: C:\WINNT\Explorer.exe A buffer overrun has been
detected which has corrupted the program's internal state.
The program cannot safely continue executio and must be
terminated."
I've reinstalled IE 6.0 and the SP 4(for Win2000). Ran
Norton's WINDOCTOR and rebuild regestry(by
export/import).Checked TMP variable.Still same issue.

I have a Dell GX270 system with Windows 2000 Pro. If
anyone have a idea about this, please share.
Thank you for your time. It's being greatly appreciated.

Most likely a plug-in that is misbehaving. Have you tried running Ad-Aware
(it will scan for spyware/adware that can cause system problems)?

Great Answer Pat! We had this exact problem on a T40 laptop running XP.
I was able to D/L Ad-Aware and ran it successfully removing all
offending threads. This resolved the problem....

Cheers and Merry Christmas!!
