A mishap occured and I had to reinstall xp, however, I am still not able to navigate the net using explorer. I can using MSN or Netscape, but everytime I click on e shorttcut, the error message occurs. The tech info for this error is as follows:

AppName: iexplore.exe AppVer: 6.0.2800.1106 ModName: ebnpsfeq.dll

ModVer: 1.0.0.1 Offset: 0000ed0d

When I search the files, it says ebnpsfeq.dll is an application extension in Win 32/system files. However this does not appear to come from Microsoft, as there is no signature. I also searched the DLL data base of Microsoft and it does not appear there, has anyone seen this error message before and if I remove it, I am afraid of system crash...

Kindly advise.

ebnpsfeq.dll is not a Windows XP file. You probably have unwittingly allowed
spyware or adware onto your computer.

My pleasure. We need to be so careful while surfing the Internet. Most
spyware/adware does not allow itself to be removed by simply deleting a DLL.

I don't know how it got there, but the two spyware programs that I have
(spyhynter and spybloc) did not recognize it at spyware. Anyway, I created a
restore point before and after the removal of the said dll just in case. Now
I can rest. Thanks.
