Hello, I posted a post yesterday and was givin some advice
and an error I keep getting when trying to
run "gamecenter" wich is a live update scoring system for
my fantasy football league. I just started getting this
error this Sunday, I did not get ever before. I have run
the latest norton antivirus and also ran an ad-ware
program as well as a registry mechanic program that I
actually went ahaead and purchased online, it did not
help. I just got a new hard drive 1 month ago and it
seems to be fine. I can run internet explorer just fine,
this is the only thing I get an error on when I try and
use the live scoring system via my fantasy league. I have
NO viruses, ran a registry cleanser and my cpu seems to be
just great now according to all the required "fixer upper
programs". Is there anyway I can just remove explorer and
reinstall it? I tried to uninstall it via add/remove
programs but I only get the option to "repair". I tried
that too. PLease help, I dont want to have to take my cpu
to the shop again and replace something that I man not
have to repair. I initially took my cpu in because I got
a simuliar explorer error via just opening explorer, I
tried to format my drive and reinstall windows and then
just had problem after problem trying to install windows.
I was told my harddrive took a crap so I bought a new 40
gig HD. Everything was fine (I am a gamer online) until
this Sunday when I tried to access this gamecenter link.
I have my sons cpu on my in house network and I have no
problems accessing "gamecenter" from his cpu, just
mine...I dont understand what the problem is or could be
on my cpu. I thought I checked everything now? Please
help. below is the error I get:

your problem is happening and then read the post from Kerry in this group
I was having the following problem when trying to visit
pogo.com. I found a fix for it. Apparently during one
of the Microsoft updates my java machine was corrupted in
some way:

The following error has occurred:
The Applet Did Not Download Correctly

Explanation:
Every time you play, the Java applet that loads the game
room is automatically downloaded to your computer.
Your browser detected that the copy that was downloaded
to your computer was corrupted somehow, and will not
function properly.
How to Fix the Problem:
The usual cause of this error is that you have a
corrupted file in your browser's cache. So, the first
thing you should do is clear your browser's cache.
Pull down the Tools menu and choose "Internet Options"
Click on the General tab.
Click on the Delete Files button in the "Temporary
Internet Files" section and then click OK when the dialog
box appears.
Click OK to close the Internet Options dialog box.
Exit and relaunch Internet Explorer.
You might also need to turn off your Java JIT compiler.
Here's how to do that:
Pull down the Tools menu and choose "Internet Options"
Click on the Advanced tab.
Scroll down to the "Java VM" subhead and make sure "Java
JIT compiler enabled" is unchecked.
Click the OK button.
After clearing your cache, you need to quit and restart
your browser. If you don't quit the browser, your cache
will not be completely cleared out.
If this doesn't seem to solve your problem, try rebooting
your computer.
If this does not fix the problem, you may have a caching
proxy server between you and our web server. To see if
this is the case, check the proxy setting for your
browser. If there is a proxy server set, try turning it
off. Then clear your cache again as described above, and
quit and restart your browser to see if it fixes the
problem.
If this does not fix the problem, your browser may not be
installed properly. Try re-installing your browser.

I fixed it with reinstalling java at www.java.com.
Hope this helps.
