I have gone into Explorer, selected View>Details>then to Folder Options>View
Tab>Apply to All Folders>Yes>OK. When I reopen Explorer, it still opens in
the Icons View. I have also Reset All Folders and did the above again to no
avail... Also when in Save and/or Open Dialogue boxes, Files and Folders
appear in List View and not alphabetized... In either case, I have to click
on Details View and re-alphabetize and this is driving me nuts! Did I over
tweak using Xteq, TweakUIXP, etc., or with REG, VBS or EXE's from Kelly's
Korner or other MVP's sites? I must have, but I can't seem to figure this
out... ???

I have set a few Restore Points, but I would prefer not to use this. I have
spent hours and hours using Xteq, TweakUIXP or with REG, VBS or EXE's,
which were predomininately Registry hacks... I'd like to understand what I
did so I don't do it again and not have do redo everything...

Using:
WinXP Pro 2600.xpsp2.030329-1720

Thanks...

For the Common Dialog box, the views cannot be customized [by design].

Thanks so much Ramesh...

I actually had bags8000.reg on file, I didn't think I went over or would
ever go over the default size. I believe I had it set to 200 or 400
(whatever the default size is) - there is a setting in Xteq for this also, I
just didn't know any better...

The fix didn't take right away but everything is now coming up in Details
View... and while the Common Dialoq boxes can't be changed, at least they
are coming up alphabetized in List View now!

Thanks again...

I had 'the folder view settings won't stick' problem and tried absolutely every piece of advice I could find and nothing did the trick! I almost had myself resigned to the irritation being constant ..... until..... I removed the 'Incredibar' from Incredimail and bingo! One relieved little user! Try it!
