Hi folks. I hope this is an appropriate board to ask help
with this topic... Somehow, my default/home Explorer page
is now a lame web search site and even though I went to
Tools, Internet Options and changed it back to what I
wanted (and hit "Apply" before closing the window) it
comes up with the impostor page when I open a new session
(or when I eventually click on the "Home" button.) It
seems to be "hard coded" and I can't seem to change it via
the Explorer Internet options/preferences. Everytime I
change it, it just reverts back to the lame web site after
I open a new window or shut down/power up. Help!

Hello. I had that problem for a few weeks until 2 weeks
ago when I downloaded some shareware called Spybot. (Make
sure it is the forever-free Spybot and not Spykiller or
Spyhunter or anything else that you have to pay for. It
looks fore spyware attached to your computer and gives you
a list and the option to remove or keep whichever ones you
want. I got rid of all of mine (there were dozens!!) and
frequently use it to keep getting rid of them (at least 2
new ones attached everyday) and since then the browser
opens up to the homepage that I chose AND we connect
faster and pages load faster too.
