Explorer crashes when trying to open folder with .jpg files

Hello,

We scanned in about a thousand old photos on our earlier
Dell machine (Dimension 4100) with Adobe Photoshop. We
transferred those .jpg files to our new machine (Dell
Precision 360, Windows XP Pro). But when we open the
folders containing those image files Explorer crashes.

I checked the Event Viewer and this is what I found:
"Event ID: 1000
Faulting application explorer.exe, version 6.0.2800.1106,
faulting module ntdll.dll, version 5.1.2600.1217, fault
address 0x000085c0."

Any ideas what to do to get rid of this problem so we can
access those files on our new computer?

Thank you in advance!

Susan L.

Hi Susan,

Start/run "sfc /scannow" and have your WinXP CD handy as this tool validates
the system file set and replaces corrupted ones.
