Hi,

Whenever I try to view the properties for my LAN
connection, Explorer generates an error and crashes. Has
anybody else ever experienced this and know of a
workaround?

Thanks

The first thing that you want to try are the steps in the following article:

254631 Some Network and Dial-Up Connections Icons May Be Missing
<http://support.microsoft.com/?id=254631>

If that fails to resolve the issue. You may want to try this:
(you do have your data backed up, right?)

1. Open up REGEDT32 and navigate to the following location:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Network

2. Save out the Network key.

3. Delete the Config value which is inside the Network key
(Do not delete the Network key)

The Config value will be reconstructed on startup.

4. Reboot.
