Matt

I am running RTM Ultimate.

Explorer just crashes and restarts. Is there anyway to make it drop into
either WinDbg or Visual Studio so i can look at a stack trace and see if any
of my shell extensions are causing this?

or where is the good Dr. Watson when you need him.. was that removed in
Vista?

Im thinking maybe TortoiseSVN or TourtoiseCVS could be causing it, but i
want to drop into a debugger and see before i go off and remove those. As
of right now I just living with the crashes

Dr Watson is there. Just click the Start Orb and type "dr watson" in the
Start Search box at the bottom and hit Enter. The folder, dump files,
everything, will pop up for you in Explorer.

Just to clarify, type "drwatson", all one word or search may not find
it.

Thanks guys, i was just used to typing "drwtsn32" in the run box.

found the problem too.. stupid hex editor had a shell extension that was
crashing Explorer.exe..
life is much better now.

You're welcome.

Are you talking about IE7 or Explorer? My explorer hasn't crashed on me
ever on RTM Ultimate x64. IE7, however, is a totally different story. My
IE7 crashes on my at least once every hour and this is on a clean install
with bare minimum (essential drivers) only.....
