Hi Gerry,

My Name is Stephen Knipe, I have XP Home Ed, and now when I open IE, it says
that "Runtime" has asked it to terminate in an "Unusual" way. I had
Bugbear.B some years ago and cleared everything off my harddrive and
re-installed it all. Since then IE has not worked no matter how many times I
re-install and or re-download it from Microsoft. I don't think Bugbear had
affected it, but it could have been another worm or trojan. At any rate, I
too am having a similar problem, hopefully someone will have an answer.

If you have the Google toolbar uninstall it.
also:
Runtime Library Microsoft Visual C++, Runtime Error Program
C:\Windows\Explorer.exe or Iexplore.exe, abnormal program termination.

or

also make sure you don't have both the Sun JRE and the Microsoft VM JIT
compiler enabled.
