Hi

Whenever I try to drag a file ( just on the desktop to move a shortcut, from one disk to another to move/copy a file
the explorer crashes and restarts (which is normal I presume).
It is not possible to copy / move a file in windows, except when in command interpreter (cmd.exe)

Anyone knows/heard of the problem

Advancing on the problem, however still no solution
I now know the error cause : 1002, a quite general error, but perhaps someone can shed a light
I sent error report to MS. I wonder if this will be effective however..... (someone knows?)

Nope,

This did not work, as it found nothing

However, I previously changed password of my username through the administrator account
Since then the problems occurred
The solution I found in deleting local TEMP directory (%USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Temp) and recreating it. Also I deleted all non-locked files from c:\WINDOWS\Temp

No problem is gone

It looks like a problem related to the security / Ownership of files / directories
anyway I solved the issue

Thanks for your assistance.
