my browser will not work with windows xp. It quits
responding or just takes forever to load. This does not
happen at all with netscape. that works in a second so it
can't (i don't think) be a connection problem. any help
would be appreciated.

Try a repair first.

Add/Remove programs/MS/IE repair.

If still no joy look for parasites.

Try this: Tools > Internet Options > Advanced > Browsing
Uncheck the Enable 3rd party browser extensions

If this clears your problem then find out who the culprit(s) is/are with
these tools.
