Explorer 6 too slow

I have a 1.5 Mbps connection which gives me a good 185
KB/sec when downloading files etc, but when using IE 6,
every 3 or 4 minutes, the program "hangs" and stops
downloading the web page. (This only happens during
browing). The actual program doesn't shut down or anything
it just stops downloading the web page I happen to be on.
After about 30 sec or so, it resumes. Its very annoying
because it always!!! happens. (When I use Opera this
doesn't happen). Does anyone know anything about this?

check for spyware

If you have an unused network card disable it in Device Manager.
