Do you have the latest version of Acrobat Reader installed? Uninstall
whatever you've got (Dell usually preinstalls an older version) and
download/install the latest version from Adobe.com.

How do you have Internet Explorer 5.1 on a Dell Dimension system you just
got?
Somehow - I cannot fathom a NEW Dell having Old Software - especially when
Internet Explorer 6.0 was shipped with Windows XP as the standard web
browser. You would have had to hack the OS. heh

You should first uninstall whatever Adobe Acrobat Reader version you have
(that may be 5.1 - who knows) and install the latest from Adobe's site
(7.0.5.) http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html

(IUNCHECK the two boxes! Do a Custom Install and ONLY install the reader -
not all the other crap.)

If that does nothing, you should try this:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/318378

If you have XP, then you already have IE6.
Please post the exact error message, though I strongly suggest you
post at one of the newsgroups below:
