Every time I open Explore, the cursor defaults to
the "Start Menu" folder. How can I change this to the
folder that I want?

This used to be easy to do but the only application that
I have been able to find a way to change the "default
directory" is in Excel.

Thanks for any help.

Hi Michael,

Are you opening it by right-clicking the start button? If so, then you are
telling explorer to open at that folder. You can't change that behavior, but
all you really need to do is open explorer a different way. Instead, create
a shorcut to C:\Windows\explorer.exe and place it on the desktop or the
quicklaunch bar. Once created, right-click it and change the target line to
one of your choosing. This article explains how:

You're right!!

With all the power that Win XP has, you would think that
this step would be easier then "%SystemRoot%
\Explorer.exe /root, C:\"

THanks for your help.
