I have yet to figure out if it is an exploit or an ebay issue with
their toolbar.

The removal of 2 files located at

"C:\Program Files\eBay\eBay Toolbar\lib"

the file names are "wsasc.dll" & "wsasc.zip"

Internet explorer must be closed to delete "wsasc.dll"

Delete or rename those 2 files will stop the creation of the file
"wsasc.xml"

which in turn contains a very long list of website redirections to a
server located in romania that im fairly certain ebay did not have
much to do with.

When converted to a word document from XML the word doc is approx 109
pages thus greatly slowing down internet explorer.

Keep track of your items and protect yourself from spoof websites.
eBay Toolbar also comes with Account Guard, a new feature that helps you
protect your eBay account information. More.

If you already have eBay Toolbar it will automatically be updated to include
Account Guard.

wsasc is the part of the toolbar that protects you from spoof websites and
whatever else, check out http://www.wholesecurity.com/ (makers of the
wsasc.dll)

and hmm

Update July 16, 2004 --

An Incorrect Identification of Exploit-URLSpoof.gen has been found when
scanning files associated with the eBay Toolbar. The file being detected as
Exploit-URLSpoof.gen is wsasc.xml. If you are seeing this specific
detection, please download the extra.dat files below which will correct the
Incorrect Identification.
