Can I just ask what the point is in downloading some
software to 'protect your pc' if it stops working in a
month? It doesn't mention this in the release notes, I'm
not impressed, Microsoft.

There will be another download before the time limit is up. On my calendar,
66 days is more than a month.

a. It doesn't metion that it's a 30 day trial
b. It could tell you before you acctually download it
c. I'm very sorry, I made a mistake, jeez, 2 months then,
not a month. That's the last time I get help on MS
newsgroups.

What help did you need? Relax, we're not from the government!

Here is what I found oon the MS webpage:

Download Microsoft Windows AntiSpyware (Beta)

Get the beta version of our new anti-spyware software
to help protect your PC from spyware and other potentially
unwanted software.

Now, just in case there are some folks out there that don't know it, a beta
is software you shouldn't be messing with unless you are prepared to be
annoyed, disappointed, surprised, and ready to reformat at a moments notice.

Sorry you weren't aware!

Bradley--there are probably more than 10 million folks in the same boat as
you are. Some of us have been in the boat since early January.

I don't mean to make light of your situation, but it isn't unique. Another
beta version will be available before this one expires.

I'll freely admit that there are a (small) number of things that I believe
Microsoft should be telling users before they download--and I've looked, and
the timed nature of the beta isn't there--agreed.

Okay, thanks for the information, I think I'll just buy a
McAfee one from the store, saves trouble, and it's
obviously out of BETA and should work fine!

And, yes, I did know BETA's weren't always brilliant and
working great, but from such a company like Microsoft,
you'd expect them to give a little more info about it's
expiry dates etc.

Once again, thank you both. :)
