Expires after problem with all email

I just set up a new user and all email comes in has a line though the subject
line (even unread and test emails)
I found out that all email he receives has the "expires after" checkbox
checked in mail options by default and he is the only user having this
problem (it's not the server) Anyone know why this is happening by default
and how to turn it off?

Check the View filters. Go through all the customize settings.
