expired password

my password expired, everything Ive read in help and support, says to click
on "use password disk" on welcome page after restart. It goes straight to
logon, there is no welcome page. there is no "did you forget password" mssg.
do I need to reinstall, can i connect to my other computer? need help

Little to no information given.
I can assume you have Windows XP from the newsgroup you chose to post in -
but I have no idea what version (Home, Professional, Tablet PC, x64 or Media
Center) or what service pack level (none, 1 or 2.) I do know that the
'everything you've read' shold have told you that only works *if* you
created a password disk and you have no autologon.

My advice to you - logon as the built-in administrator (username
"administrator") in safe mode (the password is likely blank) and change the
password for whatever other user you need to once logged into safe mode as
the user administrator.
