Expired Emails in Outlook 2003 ?

What function does this have ?

Ive done a test on my pop3 Yahoo email and all it does is say message has
expired at the top of the email ?

Dont quite understand what the benefits of this are !
 
It is mostly for business users.

Sending important details about an upcoming meeting that would be useless
after the meeting date? A quick "Call me before 4 PM to discuss you
business trip tomorrow"?

I can think of a lot.
