while and now I can't get in... Can any one help me get
my files back I don't care about upgrading or
reinstalling but I need to get in to windows 2000
fast...Thank you inadvance for any help you can give me.

Have you tried administrator (with no password)? Sometimes that is set as
default.

Look in the microsoft.public.win2000.security group for some password reset
utilities. We a linux floppy to reset passwords.

If you rename/delete the sam file located in c:\winnt\system32\config it will set the admin password back to blank. If your system is setup with the fat file system then you can boot up with a regular 98 disk and do this (you can create a bootdisk from one of these utilities http://www.bootdisk.com/bootdisk.htm). If your system is using NTFS then you will need a utility on your boot disk that can mount NTFS drives (a utility called ntfs pro is good at this, do a search on google for it). That's it, you will reset the admin password.
