I do not understand how microsoft says it wants to
protect us from spyware, but gives us an antispyware that
expires. How do i contact microsoft to get an updated
version?

Don't worry about contacting Microsoft. Keep an eye on these groups, or
this URL:

http://www.microsoft.com/spyware/software

I'm sure that something extending this deadline will be available well
before the deadline.
