Hi I am new to this. I actually found this site by chance. I am going to try to build myself a computer ( time will tell if i succeed ). I wondered if anyone would like to donate any computer parts for this experiment. All donations will be gratefully received. I don't know what i need but i am sure there is someone out there that will know. Many thanks.

As Ian indicated FREECYCLE is good for stuff for free.
As you have an older pc why not try out a GNU/Linux operating system on it ? Once you have made friends with a penguin you will never want to stare at windows again.
