I have just had my computer reformatted due 2 a worm but
now my C drive only has a capacity of 20 GB even though
i've got another 100 GB of free space...i've formatted
the free space with my Computer Managment but how do i
add that space onto my C drive?

Hi Antonio,

You can't using the WinXP drive tools, you would need a third party
partitioning utility. Your alternative is to create another partition with
the free space.

Or you could start all over as well.

I had this same thing happen to me. 80 Gig formated to
only 20. Where did my other 60gig disappear to. I did
everything I could using and of Mircrosoft's tools, but
this was beyond anything Windows could do.

It is a Maxtor drive.

What I had to do was download the format utility from
Maxtor. The utility removed any virtual partitions and
opened up the whole drive again. From there it even gave
me the choice of what type of format I wanted NTFS, FAT32
etc...in preparation for my OS.
The whole thing took a fraction of the time I spent in
trying to format any other way.

Hope this helps.
