Expanded Menu Drop Down List

I just installed Word 2003 and the menu drop down lists do not automatically
expand. I had this on my earlier version of Word but can not recall the
procedure. What can I do to have the list expand when I click on a menu
button?
 
Tools | Customize | Options: "Always show full menus."
