If I wanted to get to know one really well (ie. commit common usage to
memory... use often) Which one? The reason I ask is I'm not sure which is
older or newer and I don't want to get used to one and have it disappear
because its dated. I think the extract.exe is older... since dos/win95?

anyway... anyone have any suggestions here? (I know, kind of a silly
question... I'm silly... but serious)

Interesting question, and can't tell you definitely which one is older, but
see articles referring to both back to 1993/4 and ntserver 3.1 etc.
Both are still referenced in some articles, and available, but would
probably go with expand myself.
