Just wondering if this is possible, one of the great pluses of XP was the
lock down of alot of folders (prog files etc) but its also a bit of a pain,
say a user has a prob and the solution is to add or remove something from
one of these locations I have to close everything of theirs down, log in as
admin do the thing then log back in (we don't use fast switching here)

It would be great if you could be logged in as any user click something and
put in admin credentials but you're still on the users session, do what you
have to do then close off the admin credential session (you get my drift?)

can this be done in Vista???

Well that's how it works - in Vista if I wanted to change the system time
for example and I was on a limited account, then I could get my admin to
type in his password, and then as soon as that happens the admin privilages
turn on. But, when you close down the dialog or program which you're working
with, UAC then locks the computer back up again.

So, it automatically turns off the admin. mode basically :o)
