How do I set up IE to expand the Favorites?

When I click on Favorites two small arrowa point down and I have to click on
them in order to expand the complete list.

IE-Tools-Internet Options-Advanced
The option is "Enable Personalized Favorites Menu"
Uncheck it.

Urrrgh! I followed the direction but my Favorites folder still won't expand!

There are a number of options which apparently require a restart
but aren't documented as such. Perhaps this is one of them.
Close all instances of IE and verify that iexplore.exe is not
running as an active process before deciding that the change
you made isn't working.

Also, after restarting verify that the change is sticking.
It's possible that your user's profile is locked or corrupted
to some extent which could make it necessary to create
a new unlocked user profile (or at least unlock the old one,
however that is being done.)

Good luck

Well as it happens, I had already done what you mentioned below -- not once,
not twice, but thrice -- and with no results. Finally I gave up and went
about my business. Later on that same day, I ran IE and suddenly the
Favorites folder was expanding as it should! Go figure... Anyhow, thanks just
the same for replying, Robert.

Perhaps you can help me with my next question. I've since imported a very
very very long list of Favorites from another computer and it now takes me an
eternity to scroll to the bottom. Is there any way to have the Favorites
folder open up side-by-side like the All Programs menu under Start?

The best you can do that way is separate your Favorites into subfolders.

However, to get to the bottom of a long list what I do is use CursorUp.
(No scrolling required.)
