Exit from dos batch file

Hi all,
I wrote a small dos batch file to execute a game that won't run under XP
(home). The last line in the file is "exit". The problem is after the game
closes the last line of the batch file runs and is displayed but the window
doesn't close. If I manually type "exit", it closes and returns me to the
desktop. How can I get the window to close automatically?

That's ODD. I can't get my dos window to stay open!

Have you tried the compatibility mode to run you game?

Total no go. Desktop flashes and the program won't run or it exits out so
fast you can't tell what's really happening.
