Existing standard zone integration

Does anybody have a recommendation on the process for
integrating an existing standard DNS zone on a W2K Server
with a soon-to-be created W2K AD DNS zone bearing the
same name (on a different box)?

Make the zone on the soon to be server a secondary zone, unless there's some
reason you want them to stay separate?.

If the zone on the original server is AD Integrated (if it's a DC), and you
create a secondary on the new server, then when you run DCPROMO on it, it
will automatically make it AD Integrated also.

Both servers are already joined to an AD domain and the new one will join as
a DC?
 
On the soon to be DC, create a secondary for the zone in question. After the DC promo, change the type of zone to AD integrated. On the old primary, make it
a secondary, if you wish, pointing at the DC hosting the AD integrated zone.

Hi Michael,

From my experience doing this numerous times, DCPROMO will actually change
the zone from a secondary to AD Integrated automatically, if the zone
already exists on another DC in the same domain as AD Integrated, as I
mentioned in my previous post.
