Hiall, i ve been using NVU for my web building and since i did not see
it on pricelessware or other freeware sites i thought let's tell the
world!
http://nvu.com/index.html
It is still in beta and based on and very similar to mozilla composer.
Only it has nice built in ftp functionality and is financially backed
bij lindows so hopefullu under active development.

Hmmm...first thing it did was try to connect to the net. Why?

Maybe it wants to assimilate you?
It would certainly gain nothing from that. Anyway, given that I
don't really *need* a wysiwyg html editor and was just curious, I
deleted it.

If you're up for a little coding check out http://www.planet-source-code.com
.. There's a nifty little WYSIWYG editor tool up there that gives you
something like a little Windows Write in a window. I can't remember, but
I'm thinking I saw it in the PHP section.

Enersoft's freeware version of SiteGenWiz does an excellent wysiwyg
job - you can actually type (including formats, fonts, colours etc) &
add pictures etc directly onto the wysiwig page - it indexes, updates
links & has a built-in ftp uploader. I recently had to correct a
typo error in a link on my site - it took me literally less than 30
seconds to open SiteGenWiz, correct the link & upload to my ISP.
Have a look at it at http://www.enersoft.ch/_sgt/m2_1.htm . You can
also have a look at some real sites created with it at
http://www.enersoft.ch/_sgt/m2m3s2_1.htm .

Just for clarity, the freeware version puts a link to enersoft on
your pages.

Agreed, but it is a very small, unobtrusive link at the bottom of the
page. No graphics or anything like that.

Can't be too hard to remove with some scripting.

Woops, i am sorry for mentioning it here without mentioning that. I
did not noitice since it is not clearly indicated on downloading NVU
and i only used it to update existing pages and it did not change
them.
ill go back to using mozilla composer then.
Thanx, Menu

It's also for Linux. You might have mentioned that.

There is a Windows Version.... I have it happily running on Windows XP
well, I was JUST trying to get it, when the Windows version seemed to
disappear under my mouse!...One minute it was there, with a link...the
next it was gone......wait.....trying something..........Ok...*grin*,
this I have never seen before....I was trying to copy the link in Opera,
and it refused to allow it! I opened Mozilla and it works just fine. I
guess it thinks that if Opera is my browser, this program can't work.

I wonder how they totally PREVENT my even using Opera to even copy the
link.
