exe files automatically opened w/ wordpad

whenever i click to open a exe file, my pc open it with
wordpad. and many strange words are shown on the screen.
i can't use those files anymore. what can i do to fix
this problem?

A change in this behavior of EXE files such as what you are seeing can be
due to a virus infection. Sircam, for example, destroyed the default
actions of EXE files.

You need to make sure your system is virus free.
And you need to fix your EXE file association.

Scan the system with an antivirus program that has current virus definition
files installed. If necessary, use an online scanner to accomplish this. A
popular online scanner is "Housecall" that can be found here:
