Exclude a folder from scan

Hi,

I have a laptop with Avast 4.5

I want to exlcude a folder from being scanned in the on-demand scan and also
the "In the background" scan. Is there any way I can achieve this?

When you are in the Enhanced User Interface , select "Settings" then
"Exclusions" and you'll be able to say which folders you want to exclude
from being scanned .

It's said that "These settings affect all parts of avast" .

That's the way my avast runs .
