Exchange Server - PST Calendar

My company uses Outlook 2003 on an Exchange Server. I am running in Cached
Exchange Mode. I have a PST file for email messages, so I can manage my
Exchange Mailbox file size. The PST file has email folders and a contacts
folder, which I use. My problem is that a Calendar, Journal and Task folders
keep appearing in the PST file, despite my having deleted them on more than
one occasion. Is there any way to get rid of these folders in my PST file?
 
No, you cannot delete default folders from your mail store.

If your delivery location is the Exchange mailbox, then there are two
reasons I can postulate for why a complete set of default folders would
appear in a PST you've created. The first reason is that at some point you
made it the delivery location, which will cause Outlook to populate it with
all the default folders. However, since you say you can delete them, this
can't be what has happened. The other alternative is that you have this PST
defined to be an archive PST in autoarchive, either on the global level, or
in the properties of one or more folders, and you have autoarchiving
enabled. This will cause Outlook periodically (i.e., when autoarchive runs)
to create folders in which it will store archived messages, even if no
messages are eligible for archiving at the time. Those folders you should
be able to delete.
 
Excellent tip. That was indeed the case, I had Autoarchiving set to go to
this PST file. I have modified it and will test to make sure the calendar
folder does not re-appear.

My situation is slightly different. We have an enduser who has a personal
folder where she has created multiple subfolders to use when sorting her
emails. There are also Tasks, Contacts, Notes, and Calendar folders showing
in this personal folder. She does not want the Calendar folder listed. When
she does a right-mouse click the "delete" option is grayed out. How can we
get rid of the calendar folder for her?

This is a sign that the PST has been used at some point as the delivery
location because Outlook creates all the default folders and makes them
undeletable. The only way around this is to make sure the Exchange mailbox
is the delivery locaiton, create a new PST, move to it those folders from
the old PST that you want to be there. Then close the old PST.
