Exchange in 2 different environments

can you setup 2 different exchange servers at 2 different locations and have
them communicate with each other like they were one. As far as being able to
share calendars, etc.....
 
Outlook can't connect to two different Exchange servers at once, so the
servers need to be in one domain.
