Exchange 5.5 AD connector - where?

Where is the AD connector on Microsoft's website?

Sorry for the myriad AD posts lately, but I'm sitting at my desk reading and
scouring the net and some of these questions are best answered by human
beings :-)

Anyway, I've checked the download center and various searches on TechNet and
although I am finding tons of useful reading, I have yet to actually find
the darned download :-(

Thanks,
Mark

What are You planning to achive? Are You planning Exchange migration ?

You will find ADC on the Exchange 2000 or Exchange 2003 CD.

Actually, I'm planning to upgrade my network to AD and then migrate my
Exchange 5.5 to a new Exchange 2000 box. I thought that once I upgraded my
network, I had to install the AD connector so that my Exchange 5.5 server
would work? I won't be migrating to Exchange 2000 for another week after
that.

I seem to be missing something here - what are you thinking? Please give me
advice if you think I'm doing something wrong...

Thanks,
Mark

Thanks,
Read through this article - http://support.microsoft.com/?id=316886

In addition to what Tomasz has stated, I would like to suggest that you use
the AD Connector from the Exchange 2000 Service pack CD and not from the
WIN2000 Server CD.

No, you do not need the connector for Exchange to work. You need the
connector so that if you make changes to AD or Exchange they will be
propogated to the other system.

There is a good article on the Microsoft Site about migrating from 5.5
to 2000:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;316886

Basically, the easiest way is to install Win 2000 and AD, install
Exchange 2000 on a spare server, install the ADC, move everything to
Exchange 2000, retire the Exchange 5.5. *I'm leaving out a lot of
steps*. Optionally you could upgrade the Exchange 5.5 after you've
migrated everything to the second server, and migrate everything back,
and retire the first Exchange 2000 server.

Cheers,

Cliff

HTH,

Shoot, I don't have that... I guess I should've kept my TechNet
subscription :-(

No fear! I downloaded it without any trouble. It appears that the AD
connector is in a folder by itself and is an executable?

You should be able to download it....SP3 is the current 'latest and
greatest'!
